About
From one campsite to a directory
MurreeCamping.com went live in 2017 as the website of a single day-camping site in Gharial, Murree, with tents under the pines, a barbecue, archery and badminton.
The campsite was set up by this site's founder, who was posted in Murree with the Army at the time and was given the job of building it and running it. Tents went up under the pines behind Lipa Huts, along with archery, air-gun shooting and a badminton net.
The campsite is still running, and the Army runs it today. Back then, people searching for "camping in Murree" found very little, and the choice has grown since. Glamping pods now sit at Patriata Top, domes overlook the valleys near New Murree, and there are camping pods in the meadows at Thandiani. This site now brings those places together so you can compare them in one place.
How we list campsites
- Real places only. Every listing is an operating campsite or glamping site we've found evidence for, and we link our sources on each page.
- Reviews checked first. Before a listing goes live, we read its public visitor reviews and summarise the main praise and complaints in our own words.
- Dated details. Prices and facilities change. We show when and where we found each detail, and flag listings we couldn't confirm recently.
- Free to list. Campsite owners can request a listing at no cost. Listing is never paid and doesn't buy a better review summary.
- Disclosure. This directory's founder set up the Murree Camping site in Gharial in 2017. It gets no special treatment: like every other listing, its details come from its public Google listing and visitor reviews.
